The Christ “(Greek) and "the Messiah" (Hebrew) both mean "the Anointed One."
Many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ, 24:5 Or Messiah;
also in verse 23 ' and will deceive many.
False Christs and false prophets will appear
and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect–if that
were possible.
If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God
lives in him and He in God.
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only
He who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this
testimony in his heart.
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of
God does not have life.
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of
God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
We know also that the Son of God
has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true.
And we are in him who is true–even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is
the true God and eternal life.
"To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These are the words of
the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose
feet are like burnished bronze.
